GIT Göttingen International Theater
Art brings people together. Art builds. We will put back together what has been torn apart. We will build bridges where walls have been erected. Because our goal is to create a place where we can talk about the world, understand it and love it. As Desmond Tutu said: "My humanity is bound up in yours, for we can only be human together".
Experience the best at the GIT Theater. Discover other views of the world, other perspectives, told in three languages: German, English and French..

A BRIDGE ACROSS CULTURES
Our aim is to make art the main endeavor of this project, which we must build with clarity and humility, taking into account the current changes in the world. Guided by our desire to rebuild towards another world, we make sure that the culture of the other, of the foreign, of strangeness is always welcome in our own, everything that is different from us, unknown or unrecognized to us.
With a team composed of professionals of different nationalities working in Germany, we will design a space for dialogue. A way to embody a convergence of political, cultural and scientific worldviews, to stimulate the urge to live and to give hope. This project, anchored in the combination of theatre and literature, will give rise to new forms of solidarity that emerge from our ability to think and act together. Instead of continuing to live in ignorance of the other, we wanted to create a space for artistic and cultural exchange in order to get to know each other better and reflect together on our world.

Our desire is to create a place of meeting and mingling in the image of our beautiful and welcoming city and by offering a variety of theatre performances in several languages, including German, English and French, written by authors from all over the world.
GIT is organised with several objectives and aims to contribute as much as possible to learning about the world's cultures and building solidarity and intelligence. We believe that more knowledge, more beauty, more understanding, more curiosity and more ingenuity, shared on a larger scale, are essential for progress, i.e. for a more harmonious functioning and development of our world..
